The Blues form has twelve bars. Twelve-tone serialism is composed of rows of all twelve chromatic tones. Sonata form features exposition, development, and recapitulation. Haiku has three lines with a 5/7/5 syllable count. And yes, a painting is bound by the shape of its canvas. These art forms are defined by their limitations.

Hi! Welcome to my new blog. I plan to fill it with a mixture of ideas that fascinate me and mental detritus that I need to purge.

I have always wanted a personal blog, but finally made the leap because I wanted someplace to put audio recordings, and to wean myself from SoundCloud. My jazz trio is beginning to record some demos tonight, so watch this space for more tracks.
